NOTORIOUS PARTY DUO JOHNNY RICTHER AND D-LOC
After riding a wave of success with counterculture icons The Kottonmouth Kings that included hitting #39 on the Billboard Top 200, headlining this year’s Cannabis Cup, and gracing the cover of High Times magazine, the dynamic duo of D-Loc and Johnny Richter have returned to wreak havoc once again on March 10th, 2009 with their first ever live album entitled “Throw Your Spades Up”.
In an effort to continuously broaden his musical horizons and expand the hip-hop empire they helped create, Kottonmouth Kings’ D-Loc and Johnny Richter branched out from the Kottonmouth Kings and released the highly anticipated self-titled debut from Kingspade in 2004. The album was fueled by club banging beats and party anthems like “Drunk in the Club” and was followed by thr group's sophomore effort "PTB" in 2007. Since then Kingspade has gone on to chart on the Billboard Top 200, selling over 75,000 albums and tour the country on their own headlining tour.
Since their debut with counter-culture icons the Kottonmouth Kings in 1994, Richter and D-Loc have soared to the heights of success by selling over 2 million albums and over a million in concerts tickets from over 1,500 live performances in the group’s decade plus existence. The Kottonmouth Kings have infiltrated the mainstream on their own terms and each of the group’s albums has hit the Billboard Charts Top 200, even debuting as high as #39 on the charts. Their accomplishments are even more impressive given the fact that they have remained completely independent from the mainstream, without the aid of a major label. |
